Green Button Bib Necklace

I've been wanting to make a bib necklace for a while, but I just haven't been able to find the time to sit down and make one! Saturday night I finally got a chance to sit down and spend some time working on this. It was really relaxing and therapeutic - sort of like putting a puzzle together! I can't wait to make more!

What did you work on this weekend?

Oh by the way, follow my blog with Bloglovin!

My Busy Mind.

I've got a problem. I generally have about 368 different craft ideas going through my head, but lately I've had at least 423. My latest craft endeavor? Felt flowers. I've been making these like nobody's business. Here's a little creation I made for myself. Maybe I'll make some to share with you guys on Etsy! (unless, of course, I move on to another idea..)

(Please excuse the terrible quality. I was too lazy to get my "real" camera
and used my phone.)

Does anyone else have creative ADD? Please tell me that I'm not alone in this! :)

Button Earrings How-To

Here is a quick and easy button earring project. I hope it inspires you to embrace the fabulosity of buttons!

Aren't these fun? They are incredibly simple and inexpensive to make.

All you'll need is:
1. Glue. I advise using some sort of bonding adhesive for durability (I use E-6000), but hot glue or super glue would work, too!
2. Earring posts. I get mine in a pack of about twenty at Hobby Lobby for around $2.00.
3. Buttons. Of course you'll need buttons! Whether you find some in the back of a drawer or steal them from your sibling's shirt, buttons are a necessity for this project. I used small, basic buttons, but really any type of button with a flat back will work.

Happy Buttoning! :)

(For those of you who aren't the crafting type or don't have any extra buttons lying around, I've got button earrings in my Etsy shop! These crimson button earrings are so fun!)

Buttons.. Again?

Hello blogging world! I haven't posted lately because I've been ridiculously busy.. and ridiculously lazy (when I'm not busy, of course). I have, however, been making mental notes of all the fun how-to's that I want to share with you guys! I made something for myself this weekend that I really like and wanted to share. And yes, it has buttons. Perhaps I should change the name of this blog to "Buttons According to She"..?

Anyway, I made this fun headband using elastic and vintage buttons that I stole from my mom's pretty enormous collection (stealing with her knowing, of course!) I hope you guys like it!

My 5-year-old nephew modeled this for me..
What a good helper he is!
(Just don't tell any of his friends that he was wearing a girl headband..)

Stay tuned.. a new how-to is coming up very very soon!

Birthday Bracelet and Buttons

One of my favorite things to do is give presents to others. Whether it be my sixty-one-year-old mom or my five-year-old nephew, the thought of going out and picking the perfect gift has always excited me. My half sister, Brooklyn, turned two today and I, yet again, got excited and went to buy a gift. I was having a hard time deciding what outfit to get, but I ended up purchasing an adorable grey and white sweater dress adorned with some of my favorite things: buttons! Whether they are vintage or new, it does not matter to me (though I'm a sucker for vintage anything!) Buttons are not only functional, but can be a unique addition to any outfit. I especially love making button jewelry, whether it be earrings, rings, or necklaces. How fun!

Anyway, I found the dress and decided to make a bracelet for her as well. It's so odd making children's jewelry when I'm so used to making adult jewelry. I kept measuring and re-measuring to make sure it was the right length-- it looked like it would barely fit around my finger! Here is a photo of the dress and bracelet as I was getting them ready to ship off to Brooklyn:

Seriously, how cute is this dress? I got it at Target for around $12. What a deal! If only they made it in my size. Sigh..

Anyway, it's bedtime in this house. I'll be posting a button earring how-to soon.. so stay tuned!
