According to She Designs began as a side hobby when designer Lauren Carter was in high school. The combination of having the "I could make that" mindset and the desire for inexpensive yet unique jewelry inspired her to begin her creative journey. She often wore stacks of mismatched, glass bead bracelets to complete her off-beat and colorful wardrobe. She also was known to wear several necklaces at once simply because she couldn't choose a favorite. After several years of creating items for herself and for her friends, she decided to open her Etsy shop and share her creations with the world. Being able to create on a regular basis is not only therapeutic but one of the most rewarding aspects of her life.
The According to She Designs shop now features handmade jewelry, hair accessories, brooches, vintage finds, felt garlands, and other home decor. Lauren takes inspiration from nature, history, and art to create her unique designs. She works from her home studio in West Tennessee.
